I’m a New York-born and bred, Los Angeles-based freelance writer, editor and service journalist for print and online covering lifestyle, culture, design, how-tos and consumer topics. I live by the motto “curiouser and curiouser,” thrive on serendipity and innovation, and excel at converting complex topics into simple, elegant and compelling copy.
You can find my byline at California Home & Design (where I also serve as the magazine’s Los Angeles editor-at-large), The Hollywood Reporter, The New York Times, Interiors, Luxe, Business of Home, Design Los Angeles, LA Magazine, Interiors California, Traditional Home, Angeleno, Vogue Living Australia, Architectural Digest, Architectural Digest Mexico, and Architectural Digest Italia among others (I also tackle copywriting and branding work). I learned on the job; my journalism school was an intense handful of years writing multiple pieces a day for Apartment Therapy (my “evergreen” pieces, like this one, are still going strong).
My abilities to scout talent, investigate what’s new and think on my feet were honed during my years as an agent and feature film producer (Johnny Mnemonic, Never Talk to Strangers, 9 1/2 Weeks 2: Love in Paris, and Shattered Image).
